The online gambling market is officially 'open' in New Zealand. Companies with a license can legally online casinos and offer sports betting. Advertising is now also legal, provided strict conditions are met.

The New Zealand Gambling Authority has announced the names of the companies that will be allowed to offer online gambling in New Zealand from Friday, October 1, 2021. It was expected that around twenty online casinos would be licensed, but in the end only ten have become so. You can see them below:

Spin Casino, part of the New Zealand Lottery, is one of two gambling companies owned by the state alongside Royal Vegas Casino.

The New Zealand companies All Slots and Betcity are also licensed. The rest of the companies that have obtained a license are foreign. These are NSUS Malta (GG), Captain Cooks, Twin, Play North (Lucky Nugget) and Hillside.

Rejected

About thirty companies had submitted an application for a permit. Earlier this week, the Gaming Authority announced that most applications were rejected, because a large part of the parties did not comply with the rules.

It is expected that more permits will be issued in the first or second half of 2023. Which companies are then on the bNZDt is not yet clear.
