About your guide
Habitat Tours – Owner/Operator - Tristan Cullen
Tristan has always had a passion for his environment and the natural world, which lead him to become an exchange student in his final year at school. Choosing to live for a year in Costa Rica as an AFS student was an amazing experience as a 17 year old, “I have a passion about wildlife, Costa Rica was an obvious choice”, from this experience he returned to NZ and studied ‘Animal Management’ as a pathway to Zookeeping, following this he travelled to Florida to volunteer at a Big Cat Rescue facility and then onto South Africa working with cheetah before volunteering and subsequently working for Australia Zoo in their Australian native Section. Back in New Zealand Tristan continued to follow his passions; the outdoors, conservation, NZ’s flora and fauna and wildlife and landscape photography (all photos on website taken by Tristan). “As much as I love what I have done overseas, I am passionate about our uniqueness here in NZ and love taking visitors on a journey in my special place”. We are members of TOSSI (Tawharanui Volunteers…..) and Little Barrier Support…. |
